Good Samaritan MedalGood Samaritan Award

The Good Samaritan Award recognizes boys and girls, age 12 through 20, for outstanding outreach service.  The recipient does not need to be a member of a United Methodist Church.   A BSA Religious Award Knot cannot be worn to recognize the Good Samaritan Award.  The BSA lists all youth awards here: BSA.   Here is a sample presentation ceremony.  Here is another location for the Good Samaritan Award.

The PRAY Youth Religious Awards listed above may be earned by a boy or girl.  The youth awards do not require any registration in Scouting.  The BSA Youth Award silver knot on the purple background is No. 05007.  A BSA Device (pin) is worn on the knot for each time it was earned.  (Up to four devices.)

The Youth Religious Award Knot may be worn if the recipient has earned a PRAY Award as a YOUTH.  This is one of the few knots that can be worn by a BSA youth (above the left pocket).  Youth or adult members who earned the knot as a YOUTH may wear the YOUTH award.  The BSA knot recognizes a church's award.

The youth awards are earned by completing a program to help them grow stronger in their faith.  If a youth completes all four levels as a youth, he or she would wear all four pins on the silver knot with the purple background.  He would also qualify for the Four Star Award.  Additional resources are below.

Venture Trust Award

After earning your God and Life and Religious Bronze, the Trust Award provides the next challenge. The Requirements provide a opportunity to expand Venturing's religious life emphasis.  The Handbook can also be a wonderful high school youth curriculum.
